Our history

evidence behind Mindful Emotion Coaching

EHCAP Ltd was created from a belief that emotional health should be understood as an essential part of lifelong physical and mental wellbeing. Our aim is to make the science of emotions, relationships and the stress response accessible and practical—giving individuals, families and professionals tools they can use in everyday life.

Our formative work was developed through a long-standing public-health contract with Somerset County Council. Working alongside practitioners, services and communities helped shape an approach that could be used across traditional professional boundaries. This experience highlighted the value of creating a shared language for understanding behaviour, strengthening relationships and supporting people with compassion rather than judgement.

From this foundation, EHCAP developed Mindful Emotion Coaching: a trauma-aware, neurodiversity-inclusive approach that brings together neuroscience, emotion coaching, safeguarding and personalised care. The training is accredited by both the Personalised Care Institute and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and is now expanding across health, education, social care and community settings.

EHCAP works collaboratively with individuals and organisations to provide accredited training, coaching, consultation and practical educational resources. Our focus remains on helping people feel heard and understood before asking them to change, while strengthening confidence, connection and emotional wellbeing.

EHCAP is overseen by a Board of Directors that meets every three months to guide the organisation’s governance, development and future direction.
