About Course

This is a Foundation Level e-learning programme which can be accessed as a stand alone (accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council as CPD only) or as part of an accredited  coach training package. When you access this e-learning as a stand alone product the price includes access to the beginner e-learning.  Once you have paid you will be contacted with a code for the beginner e-learning. You will also receive a hard copy of the programme manual and of ‘all emotions are OK’ by post if you reside in the UK.  For those of you who wish to train as a Foundation Level Mindful Emotion Coach and access one to one online coaching mentoring click this link. For those of you registered to train with EHCAP you will be contacted by Sarah. If you are registered with  HOPE you will be contacted by Rachel.

The approach in terms of connections with other people can be summarised with the acronym MEC:

  • M: Mindful preparation of self as the coach, tuning in, self care.
  • E: Engage emotionally, connect, pause to ‘be with’ a person in their thoughts and feelings as together you:
    • formulate a coaching agreement that is motivating and helpful
    • compassionately use  psycho-education tools such as the biology of stress and EHCAP’s adaptation of The Hand Model to build  skills in emotion literacy, executive function and self management
    • normalise the science  of why some people may be particularly sensitive to their environment and to stress in their environment.
  • C: Crunch time – asking questions that stimulate thinking, goal setting, problem solving together and, where necessary, limit setting. At this point you may want to look at other coaching models and begin to create your own way of asking questions  –  see lesson 7 in this module for some ideas.

This has been (and is still) a thought provoking journey both personally and professionally. The course is packed full of useful content and each stage has challenged me to explore my daily professional practice more deeply. I still feel I am very much at the beginning of applying this learning effectively, but feel supported with the learning connections and communities offered as part of this course,. This is enabling me to be courageous and trust the process will grow and develop with the help of the deeply reflective practice model of this course.

Lots of great information and webinars. All which gave pratical tools, and useful ideas of how to impliment different teqniques. This along with the science based information put things into practice and game me a better understanding of the importance of emotional literacy, and how we can promote this in our families and in our work places.

This course has enhanced my knowledge on childhood and adolescence behaviour by deepening my knowledge on trauma, on the brain and on the interactions between adults and children, even as early as conception and pregnancy. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every module and look forward to continuing to learn with EHCAP in the future. The one-to-one sessions have also been really insightful, I’ve learnt a lot about myself and my own emotions and reactions too. Thank you!

I found the course enjoyable and very closely aligned to our value system (TPP Trauma Perspective Practice)
I was unable to access some of the videos but I believe that is more to do with restrictions at my school rather than a fault in the course so I will look at those at home.

This course builds upon the first e-learning modules really well. There is an opportunity to delve deeper into the learning and it is a great resource to keep coming back to.

An excellent and well-resourced course full of appropriate materials for professionals, parents and children to digest. The discussions of the panel give a unique insight into how the science works in the real world and helps gain an understanding of how the models and strategies can be implemented by everyone. A superb course!
