I have already started to use this book at school with children I support, including those who are neurodivergent, to develop their self-regulation skills. It promotes connection between the child and me, which creates a safe and secure approach in developing a child’s emotional literacy. The clear visuals open up conversations you can have together around how you can identify and label the emotions you’re feeling, and learn key calming techniques to decompress, feel calmer and more in control. There are coping strategies you can practise throughout the book, including one of my favourites, mindful walking, which is very grounding for the children and me! The clear visuals make it easily accessible to children of all ages, including adults. Great for all settings, including at home. This is a must have for schools, parents and practitioners. What an absolute gem, which compliments Sarah Temple’s book ‘All Emotions Are Ok’.
